By: Graham Norton

Norton’s first novel, this book exceeded my expectations. Given that it is written by a comedian I had assumed it would be funny however, it turned out to be quite serious. The book describes the lives of a community in a small town in Cork, the typical highs and lows of life including the unpleasant discovery of a baby’s remains. An unusual crime novel which explores how the characters are affected by the discovery, Norton develops the perspective of the characters beautifully, punctuating some of the sadder moments with tongue-in-cheek wit, well worth a read.
